Are you drinking enough water?
I'm sure you've heard the famous "8 glasses of water a day" -- but did you know that isn't exactly true for everyone? Our bodies are different sizes, have different circumstances, and so many other factors can change the amount of water each of us needs on a daily basis.
A general rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight in ounces daily. Spreading it throughout the day will benefit you most, to keep you hydrated all day long.
This time of year, it is a good reminder to think about our hydration!
We may get so busy with outside activities and outside play that we tend to forget to drink our daily requirement of water.
Symptoms of dehydration can include:
- headaches and brain fog
- feelings of hunger
- rapid heart rate
You may say you feel like you are dragging, feel tired or are just not feel very clear minded. These can all be signs you are not getting enough water. Water helps refresh us and keeps us feeling energized.
Today, I am sharing with you, 5 easy ways to increase your water consumption:
Start your day with a tall glass of water
Use an attractive container to carry with you throughout the day that includes some form of measure, so you can keep track of ounces consumed
Drink a glass of water before and after meals
Flavor/Infuse your water with various fruits and vegetables for a variety in taste
Document/Journal your water intake to help you keep track
These easy tips can help you think about and add more water to your day!
